Shibuya Ward Tourism Association, Future Design Shibuya, and Kokumin Kyosai coop <Zenrosai> will hold “Moshimo Festival Shibuya 2022” on September 3 (Sat) and 4 (Sat), 2022 under the joint sponsorship of Shibuya Ward. It was held for two days.
At the opening ceremony, which started at 11:00 on Saturday, September 3rd, Mr. Ken Hasebe, mayor of Shibuya Ward, Mr. Jungo Kanayama, representative director of the Shibuya Ward Tourism Association, and Mr. Tadao Takahashi, representative director and managing director of Kokumin Kyosai coop <Zenrosai> He took the stage and cut the ribbon.
At the beginning, Mayor Hasebe said, "I would like not only the residents of the city but also everyone who comes to this city to raise and raise their awareness of disasters," and "Moshimo Festival Shibuya 2022" started.
Approximately 20,000 people visited Yoyogi Park over the two days, partly because it was the weekend right after September 1st was Disaster Prevention Day. A total of 54 booths were exhibited at the venue, including viewing and experience booths by various companies and organizations, disaster prevention goods sales and food areas. In addition, 13 stage contents were also held on the outdoor stage, and many people, including families, enjoyed themselves and experienced "what if" preparations.
In addition, the venue decoration was also devised, and six message signs were developed under the theme of "What if a major earthquake were to occur in Shibuya?" Visitors were asked to look for message signs and participate in a stamp rally, and many children had a great time.
After the opening ceremony, the “Minna no Bosai + Sonae Collaboration Stage” was held. At the stage event that followed, two talk sessions were held, facilitated by Ms. Shinko Osada, General Incorporated Association Future Design Shibuya Executive Director. With the themes of “preparation and mental attitude to protect women’s minds and bodies in the event of a disaster” and “enhanced disaster prevention through public-private partnerships”, we are a company that considers disaster prevention issues from the perspective of diversity and works on disaster prevention in cooperation with local governments. Then, information was exchanged on what kind of efforts were actually being made.
Even if perfect disaster prevention is difficult, it was a session with many hints on what kind of awareness we should live with, such as the importance of incorporating nature and preparation into our daily lives.
The stage on the second day started with the Kokumin Kyosai coop talk session.
Seiichiro Maki, a former member of the Japanese national football team, and Nobue Kunizaki of the Crisis Management Education Research Institute took the stage as guests, and talked about "helping each other" and "preparing for what-ifs" from various perspectives, and conveyed their importance.
In an interview after the event, Mr. Maki saw the children running around the venue with smiles on their faces. Instead, I think the best thing to do is to get people interested in it and share with people close to them what happened today, what the booth was like, and so on.” I received the impression of this event with a smile. Mr. Kunizaki said, ``By participating in events like this, you can improve your knowledge of disaster prevention, and you can get a sense of unity by participating in the festival. It is very good to be able to know when it comes to the place, "I received a comment.
On the afternoon stage, a sports team based in Shibuya Ward also participated, and a heated discussion was held on "bonds with regions and communities" that transcend barriers.
In addition to the stage event, visitors experienced many emergency preparations, such as experiencing a large earthquake in an earthquake simulation car following the day before, and the "Disaster Prevention Leader Diagnosis Service" at the Kokumin Kyosai coop booth.
The first “Moshimo Fes Shibuya 2022” will make not only visitors but also volunteers, including exhibitors, aware of the importance of preparing for what-ifs through “awareness” and “experience”. It ended successfully as an event that you could feel.
Many visitors commented, "I enjoyed learning" and "I was able to reaffirm the importance of disaster prevention." Families with their children said, "It was fun because there were many things that children could experience." We were able to enjoy disaster prevention and mitigation in a way that exceeded our expectations.
One of the participating exhibitors commented, "Disaster prevention is difficult for children to get into, but we wanted to help them learn about disaster prevention in a familiar way while having fun. It was two days that I wanted them to learn about disaster prevention while letting them know about disaster prevention." In addition, he said, "In Shibuya, I usually walk around and don't talk to anyone, but at an event like this I think it's important to talk to people. When something difficult happens, we have to help each other. It's important to know each other. And what we must not forget in case of emergency is human relationships."
In addition, about 100 volunteers participated in the two days at the venue this time. One of the volunteers had a family from Kumamoto who actually suffered great damage from the Kumamoto Earthquake. Some people said that they participated this time with the thought.
An archived video of the event will be released on the Moshimo Project official YouTube channel in late September. “Moshimo Project Shibuya” will continue to provide opportunities through various activities that lead to each person thinking about what they can do for the “Moshimo” day and preparing for it.
"If" is something that will definitely happen "someday".
However, if you prepare for "what if", the future should change greatly.
Why don't you think about what you can do for the "what if" day together?
Please pay attention to the future activities of "Moshimo Project Shibuya".
