I'm Mika Kinyuki, a Future Design Shibuya consultant. I specialize in so-called town development, and are involved in area vision development around terminal stations, including around Shibuya station, and urban development.
Future Design Shibuya has been involved since the early days of its launch, and is working to create a system and system to create a cozy and long-loved town.
Here, I would like to introduce the "Smart Infrastructure Study Group," a project within the data consortium that I have been working on recently.
To create an environment that makes it easier for town users to work and develop services
As the momentum for smart cities increases, it is being considered to install sensors and smart poles in various areas around Shibuya Station to acquire urban space data.
It's welcome in itself, but what you want to achieve by getting the data, what data you need, what format you want to get that data ... The study was in progress.
Even if you acquire the data with much effort, it is meaningless unless you can creatively utilize it and provide an environment where users in the city of Shibuya can easily work and develop services.
The Smart Infrastructure Study Group was established with the aim of improving such an environment, and held three study groups this year.
At the study session, we examined interviews with experts, future visions that we would like to achieve by acquiring data, and common rules (draft) for smart poles as one of the means.
Especially from experts, it is easy to lose sight of it even if you think about it, saying, "It is important not to install equipment or collect data" and "It is important to have the image of the city where the data is collected." I received advice from an important point of view.
In the future, there are a lot of things to consider, such as how to implement this rule, where to install the infrastructure, who manages and operates the collected data, and especially the handling of the collected data. It is also something that the entire data consortium should consider.
We would like to study step by step and aim to create the optimum environment for the users of the town, so if you are interested, please join us.
