I'm Taichi Goto, a Shibuya citizen living in Fukuoka.
Born and raised in Komazawa, Setagaya-ku, Shibuya was a familiar downtown area. In 2003, when I was working in Shibuya Ward, I moved to Fukuoka. In 2015, when the public office in Fukuoka was separated, I started to get involved in Shibuya again, was involved in the establishment of FDS, and became a member as it is. Before the Corona disaster, I went to Tokyo almost every week.
My main charge is "Sasahatahatsu Area Management".
The area name is an acronym for Sasazuka Station, Hatagaya Station, and Hatsudai Station on the Keio Line, and is an area where about one-third of the population of Shibuya Ward, 84,000 people, live. Residents come and go so much that half of them change in five years, but it is one of the best "living places" in the ward, where there are many workers, shopping streets and civic activities are thriving.
Area management is a private-sector community development in collaboration with the government. In Japan, it is a concept that has developed in conjunction with the redevelopment of commercial business districts such as Marunouchi and the area around Shibuya Station. The key to increasing the value of the region is that various actors, such as neighborhood associations, NPOs, and businesses rooted in the region, cooperate with each other as well as real estate companies. In order to make this idea sustainable, securing people and funds and coordinating various stakeholders will be issues. Large-scale redevelopment is not concentrated in this area, and new "management power" that does not rely on large capital is required.
Based on this idea, Shibuya Ward, Keio Electric Railway, and FDS jointly established a new town development organization called "Machi Lab" in July 2020. And, with the activity policy of "creating" Sasahatahatsu "loved by the community and proud of the world" with "everyone's power", we are working on support for citizen co-creation projects, formulation of community development vision, consideration of public-private partnership projects, etc. ..
The immediate goal is an experimental event in which various parties jointly set up and operate a temporary space in anticipation of the redevelopment of the former Tamagawa Johsui Ryokudo by Shibuya Ward. We are busy planning and coordinating this fall, but by sharing and disclosing the process while utilizing new digital tools and public-private partnership methods, we will redevelop and utilize the green road. I would like to create a new community of. I am happy to see people's faces and lifestyles, and I find it rewarding that there are no similar cases.
If you think that you are the one who wants a place and connection in the area, wants to give shape to your thoughts, or wants to connect your business to community development, please participate in this initiative.
