The name of the organization "Future Design Shibuya" has a bold and challenging sound when you look at it again.
In the first place, the "future" is that various elements are intricately intertwined and it seems that they are constantly changing, but we are trying to "design" it, that is, to design it.
However, I think that the word "design" has another nuance of "ingenuity".

I was also involved in the establishment of Future Design Shibuya, but if I was asked what kind of thoughts I had for this organization, it would be "a mechanism for ingenuity and ingenuity in the future of the city of Shibuya." become.
The word "ingenuity" means "to find original ideas and come up with new methods" and "to create better methods and means with new ideas and original ideas that have never been seen before". There is.
Right now, the project that the organization called Future Design Shibuya is working on in various fields can be said to be a challenge to ingenuity.

Well, there is a new project I'm working on in such an organization. It is "creating a place of learning that fosters curiosity." The trigger was last year's SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK. I was allowed to implement a learning program for children called Weather Wizard Academy with the IMAGICA Group, which is also a partner company of Future Design Shibuya (FDS). Even if I asked the children and their parents, "I want you to participate because I created a program that makes children interested in the climate, which is also the theme of the SDGs," probably few children participated. I think that. However, we gathered the participants with the approach of "become a witch and create clouds and snow", and made full use of projection mapping to direct the entire event space of Shibuya Cast as a witch's house. By inviting a weather forecaster as a lecturer and actually creating clouds and reproducing the world below freezing, the children themselves were able to actively find questions and create an environment for seeking answers.

It was a great success experience to be able to challenge various possibilities of learning by working with IMAGICA's creators / producers and affiliated companies. Using this experimental program as a role model, a project to actually implement a new learning place in society will start this year. That is the Nippon Foundation's "Children's Third Whereabouts Project," which is being developed within the facility called Friends Honmachi, which is located in the Hatagaya area of Shibuya Ward. With the aim of creating opportunities to foster curiosity for children in various environments, we plan to work with various companies and organizations such as FDS and IMAGICA to create a place to stay after school.

Together with many companies participating in FDS, I would like to create a program on what and how to make children who will lead the society interested in the future. I have a feeling that various discoveries and derivative projects will be born in the process of creating programs.
