Starting with the activity report of Future Design Shibuya this year, it was a dense time (although it was a rush) packed with a lot of things from panel discussion to group work to networking.

FUTURE DESIGNERS SUMMIT

Tuesday, December 17, 2019 16: 00-19: 00 @EDGEof

On the day of the gathering of member companies and partner companies while December was busy. First, after a greeting from President Koizumi, Ken Hasebe, Mayor of Shibuya, took the stage.

"The work of Future Design Shibuya may not be noticeable at times, but it is a movement that works behind the scenes. The aim of launching Future Design Shibuya is to serve as a hub for each government and company. We will create new initiatives while mixing "what we can do". Also, we would like companies to connect with each other, and the voice "I want you to relax the regulations in this way" was raised through Future Design Shibuya. I want you to.
It would be great if Future Design Shibuya could be created in a place where buds would be born to take on new challenges in Shibuya. "(Ken Hasebe, Mayor of Shibuya)

Next, a greeting from Chinatsu Wakatsuki, who was newly appointed as FUTURE DESIGNER in August this year.

"I've lived in Shibuya since I was single, but now I have a lot of feelings as a parent. I hope I can participate in Future Design Shibuya from the perspective of a ward inhabitant and a mom. I hope you will take advantage of it. I love Shibuya, thank you for your continued support. "(Mr. Chinatsu Wakatsuki)

Future Design Shibuya Managing Director / Secretary General Sudo

After that, the progress report of the project was made by Mr. Sudo, Managing Director / Secretary General of Future Design Shibuya.

Two years have passed since the establishment of Future Design Shibuya. This year, the number of corporate members has increased to 9 special regular members, 21 regular members, 4 supporting members, and 10 projects and 30 projects are underway. Its scale is expanding year by year.

As many projects are underway, I couldn't introduce all of them due to time constraints.
"Planning for the realization of the imaginary cultural city of Shibuya", which is challenging the proposition "How to strengthen Shibuya's uniqueness?"
"Shibuya Entertainment Tech Promotion Project", which seeks a more interesting city of Shibuya by making full use of entertainment-specific technology,
"Data city platform concept" that creates new knowledge and solutions for social issues by multiplying industry-government-academia-private data, etc.
I would like to tell you about some of the businesses, and I have provided detailed reports.

Then, the meeting will proceed to a talk session by FUTURE DESIGNER and others.

Part 1 Talk Session — What can Shibuya do in the future?

Talk session ① "What is Shibuya Entertainment Tech?"

<Speaking>
Natsuo Sato, Takeshi Natsuno, Chinatsu Wakatsuki (FUTURE DESIGNER)
Jungo Kanayama (Director, Future Design Shibuya)
Facilitate: Shinko Osada (Director, Future Design Shibuya)

The theme is "What is Shibuya Entertainment Tech?" We talked about how much fun entertainment content can be created in the city of Shibuya using technology, and what kind of business perspective there is, and the possibilities.

Mr. Natsuno hoped that the large-scale redevelopment underway in Shibuya would eventually bring a sense of unity to the cityscape. Lighting should be introduced and technology should be used to decorate the entire block with a sense of unity. "

"Each of the buildings is wonderful, but it would be nice if we could connect them. Why don't you go beyond the walls of various concessionaires and draw, for example, city leads and information with a single color LED?"

Talk session ① "What is Shibuya Entertainment Tech?"

Mr. Wakatsuki touched on Shibuya River Street, a public space along the Shibuya River that was opened this year and made various efforts in Future Design Shibuya. I felt one side of Shibuya. In fact, I think it would be nice if we could convey the charm of an old place using technology, "he says from his mother's point of view.

"For example, we use technology to reproduce fireflies on the riverside. There are many projects for adults and companies, but we also use technology for children who can be proud that they grew up in that city someday." I want you to be a city that does

On the other hand, Mr. Sato said that he himself is a parent who raises children in Shibuya, and said, "If you try to accelerate the economy as a city, it will be an adult-centered way of thinking. Shibuya has high land prices, so naturally priority is given to commerce. It's hard to come up with ideas centered on children who don't consume. "
He also says that he needs to think carefully for himself, not the easy idea that "Shibuya is like this."

"A" new thing "is dangerous in a sense. When I look back 10 years later, it doesn't make sense to think that it was a" new "technology, but it didn't really matter." Advanced projects require careful scrutiny and polishing to make it seem effective. "

Talk session ① "What is Shibuya Entertainment Tech?"

Kanayama is from the perspective of having the title of President of the Shibuya Tourism Association.
"When I think about why people gather in the so-called city of Shibuya, where there are no tourist resources, I notice that there is a lot of content here and there, and the entire city has become a theme park. However, I am aware that I am coming to a theme park. Is not born because each content is scattered without a sense of unity. The city of Shibuya needs a sense of unity as a hospitality to welcome visitors. "
In line with Mr. Natsuno's opinion, what kind of concept is required there?
"There are different lifestyles in the suburbs and the countryside, and that is the original landscape of the people who grow up there. Everyone should think about what the city of Shibuya wants to leave as the original landscape. For example, nature and relaxation. It's important, but in fact, it's easy to take a train to relax in nature. I want to think about how to use technology to create something that makes me happy to live in Shibuya. " rice field.

For example, some of the projects currently underway have a perspective of creating a multi-layered virtual space for the city of Shibuya and what kind of entertainment content will be cultivated in it. Among them, there are many expectations for those using virtual-related technology.

Kanayama said, "I think there will be more restrictions in the virtual space for the future. I would like you to take this opportunity as it is in the pioneering period and actively participate in the project." As I said to everyone, Future Design Shibuya will continue to push forward 2020 and beyond, as the project that took that step this year will eventually create great value for the future.

Talk session ② "Does Shibuya data save the future?"

Talk session ② "Does Shibuya data save the future?"

<Speaking>
Seiichi Saito, Yasuaki Sakyo, Chiaki Hayashi (FUTURE DESIGNER)
Hideki Koizumi (Representative Director of Future Design Shibuya)
Facilitate: Natsuhiko Kubota (Future Design Shibuya)

The "Data City Platform Concept" aims to realize advanced administrative services and social services by multiplying the data possessed by industry, government, academia and the private sector. Future Design Shibuya is focusing on providing services that enrich the lives of citizens and contributing to the development of society as a whole by laterally spreading the knowledge gained there to cities other than Shibuya. This is one of the projects we are working on.
In this second talk session, with the three members of FUTURE DESIGNER, opinions were exchanged on the future image of cities and governments that can be seen from the perspective of data utilization.

First, Mr. Saito talks about the role that Future Design Shibuya should play.

"Measures such as data utilization tend to be openly circulated due to repeated discussions, and we need the power to drive them toward implementation. It is the mission of Future Design Shibuya to do what we can. I think it's important not to start with small difficulties, but to implement it from fun things such as entertainment and involve the citizens. "

Talk session ② "Does Shibuya data save the future?"

Mr. Hayashi agrees, "It is not necessary for Future Design Shibuya to produce" 0 "to" 1 ". There are many passionate people, so how should we collect their dreams and make them come true? Future Design Shibuya should be an entity that can support the implementation part. I would like to think about how to implement it concretely while there are people who want to utilize data as well. "

Meanwhile, Koizumi raises an issue.

"I would like to collect data by attaching some kind of sensor to the community bus" Hachiko Bus "that runs in Shibuya. Since there are areas in Shibuya that have problems with stinks, we also do data composition using odor sensors. I like ... "

Then, Mr. Sakyo responds by citing the project he worked on in Future Design Shibuya.

Talk session ② "Does Shibuya data save the future?"

"When I tried to utilize the facility called Keirokan in Sasazuka after closing it, I noticed that many elderly people feel that they usually do not have a place to stay. The Hachiko Bus has a function to watch over the area, and the data It would be great if we could make efforts to detect risks from

He also noticed that many households were involved in the project and had multiple issues to be solved at the same time. "If we can handle the data possessed by government agencies from a more complex perspective, we should be able to provide multifaceted services at one opportunity. The existing system should be able to solve more problems than it is now."

Mr. Saito continues from the perspective of welfare.

"Before the Olympics and Paralympics, we publicly solicited photographs of the city taken in 1964, and from there we worked on a project called" 1964 TOKYO VR "that depicts the city at that time in three dimensions. The first thing I was looking at was the creation of a safety net. When children collect photos from grandpa and grandma, conversations are born, and safety, security and awareness are born. For example, welfare is a little curved. I hope we can work on it. "

Talk session ② "Does Shibuya data save the future?"

"Rather than collecting data and solving problems techy, I think it would be better if we could derive a more human solution." (Kubota)

"The important point is that technology makes people happy. The important point is how to draw a common goal for the people involved." (Koizumi)

Koizumi concludes with a final remark to the member companies who visited the venue.

"If you succeed in Shibuya, you can expand horizontally to various local governments, but there is room for companies to be involved. For example, welfare does not end with welfare alone, but by combining the wisdom and technology of companies, it can be expanded to such things. I would like to show you that you can do it.
I want to revitalize with your ideas. Thank you for your cooperation. "

Part 2 Group work that expands the possibilities

After the talk session, the visitors were divided into groups for each table, and group work was held to exchange opinions according to the theme given to each.
This time, it was limited to a short time, but it was a meaningful place to deepen friendship by not only creating opportunities for inter-company exchange but also twisting ideas together.

The following three themes have been set up. We asked everyone to discuss these randomly assigned agenda items with sticky notes, write down issues and necessary actions, and post them.

Theme ① "What is Shibuya Entertainment Tech?"
Theme ② "Does Shibuya data save the future?"
Theme ③ "What about Shibuya culture?"

Each table has a FUTURE DESIGNER, and we exchanged opinions with everyone.

Discussions at each table were lively, and it ended in a blink of an eye. Not enough time! However, the rest was carried over to the networking time, and the group work was over.

With the Olympics and Paralympics finally coming, 2020 will surely be a turbulent year for Tokyo. Looking ahead to the future, what action should Future Design Shibuya take now? What kind of cooperation and cooperation is needed with related parties to promote it?
FUTURE DESIGNER Natsuo Sato's words "examination and polishing", which were issued during the talk session, have the same caution and sincerity, but also Seiichi Saito and Chiaki Hayashi said. Creating the power to implement anyway is what is required of Future Design Shibuya above all.

Next year, with the help of member companies and partner companies, Future Design Shibuya aims to realize a better future for Shibuya.
