Public art project to enrich your creativity
When you go to Shibuya, please take a look around.
The familiar cityscape of Shibuya may have been transformed into an art gallery.
As an interlocking project of the city tour type event "SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA 2019" centered on Shibuya, 9 public art projects (1st) will be held at Sakuragaoka and Koen Dori Workers Welfare Hall (commonly known as Kinpuku). It is being carried out until the end of the month.
This project is curated by creative agency en one tokyo, and works by a total of 12 artists will be exhibited for a limited time.
The concept is to create a city where you can experience art in public spaces, create a diverse urban space with various expressions, and realize an environment that is open to the creativity of the city.
Participating artist is Yu Nagaba, a popular illustrator who is also known for collaboration with POPEYE and BEAMS. Kenta Cobayashi, who is also talked about in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Mr. Ryuichi Ishikawa, a writer who won the Kimura Ihei Award, which is said to be the Akutagawa Prize in the photography world. GUCCI MAZE, also known for Flying Lotus' album artwork. Mr. Kosuke Kawamura who showed a collaboration work with Mr. Katsuhiro Otomo at the AKIRA wall of Shibuya PARCO. Mr. Teppei Takeda, who is attracting attention as a rising star in the art world.
Shibuya still has an inorganic landscape due to large-scale urban development, but it is because now that you can encounter art works in unexpected places.
Shibuya is a city that enriches your creativity even if you walk casually.
The "Shibuya Public Art Project" began with the desire to enrich people's hearts with art works.
I hope to continue to enrich the public space in Shibuya with more art works.
