I'm Tanaka from Future Design Shibuya.
Since April 2021, I have been working at FDS as a seconded employee from Shibuya Ward. Before coming to FDS, I was in the disaster prevention section for 5 years in Shibuya Ward, and was engaged in disaster prevention work such as conducting disaster prevention drills and raising awareness of disaster prevention.
At the ward office and FDS, the work content and the people involved are different, and I am fluttering every day, but I feel that I am able to engage in a wide variety of projects and gain valuable experience.
Today I would like to talk about what I am in charge of at FDS.
SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA
——Watch the start of the project and realize the potential
SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA (SIW) is a project of ideas by various people, such as governments, companies, creators, students, artists, etc., who present and discuss various ideas and ideas. Is a conference week aiming for social implementation.
We are preparing for the event in November this year as well, but my role is centered on the secretariat work in collaboration with the cooperating companies that work together, such as various coordination with related companies and ward offices. I am in charge.
I have been involved in SIW since last year, but when I witnessed the actual launch of the project starting from SIW, I strongly felt the great potential of SIW, rather than just having a one-off discussion.
I hope that more and more people will know about SIW and participate in it.
Hello Project / Hello Festival
——Cooperate with various parties as the secretariat to enhance the disaster prevention capabilities of the town
The Moshi Moshi Project is a project to improve the disaster prevention capabilities of the city of Shibuya in preparation for a "what if" disaster. It is sponsored and promoted by Kokumin Mutual Aid coop, Shibuya City Tourism Association, and FDS, which have a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Shibuya Ward.
This year, on September 3rd (Sat) and 4th (Sun), we will hold an event "Moshimo Fes Shibuya 2022" at Yoyogi Park to spread and enlighten disaster prevention and mitigation. I am currently preparing for implementation, but my role is to work as a secretariat like SIW, such as coordinating with the production team and coordinating with various parties.
I did not think that I would be involved in disaster prevention not only at the ward office but also at FDS, but by conducting disaster prevention enlightenment with an approach unique to FDS that is difficult for the ward to do, and complementing each other with the ward, the disaster prevention power of the city of Shibuya I would like to make efforts to improve the disaster prevention.
Public space utilization project
——We will strengthen communication with local people as the leading role.
The public space utilization project is a project that leads to the improvement of regional value through social experiments that utilize the characteristics and resources of the region, with the aim of realizing a walkable town centered on people and solving regional issues.
Currently, in the Harajuku Jingumae area, we are promoting what kind of efforts and experiments can be done to build a better bicycle environment in collaboration with local people, research partners Meiji University, and Shibuya Ward.
In order to solve regional issues, we will work to prevent FDS from becoming a single person while strengthening communication and cooperation with local people so that local people who live in the town and have strong feelings will play a leading role. I feel that it is important to go every day.
Urban sports business
——Wishing the success of athletes in the future
The urban sports business has two main projects. One is "NEXT GENERATIONS", which promotes street sports and enlightens the manners of young people in U-15, and the other is "NEXT GENERATIONS", which fosters a sports field where you can "play, see, connect, and nurture" sports in Shibuya. It is "SHIBUYA PLAY GROUND".
I am mainly in charge of coordinating with the ward office when conducting events and projects.
In the future, I hope that children who have come into contact with sports in this FDS project will be able to see them playing an active role in the Olympics and Paralympics, and I would like to continue contributing to the promotion of the project.
Shibuya Ward official souvenir business
——To make people aware of souvenirs that can return profits to the community
The Shibuya Ward Official Souvenir Project is an initiative that aims to support all seven areas of the Shibuya Ward Basic Concept by developing and selling new souvenirs from Shibuya and using part of the profits as regional return expenses. Faced with the problem of few souvenirs in Shibuya, we produce and sell original bags.
In April, we publicly solicited activities to enliven Shibuya's "culture and entertainment" as a return destination for profits, and supported the activities. It's not a big amount, but I was able to thank you. I would like to promote this activity so that more people will know about it.
Environmental action business
——To create a sustainable society from Shibuya and young people
The Environmental Action Project is a project that provides awareness for all people gathering in Shibuya to think and act on future climate change as their own.
Targeting the younger generation (teens to 20s) who drive the culture of Shibuya, we will build an environmental action platform to concretely promote a sustainable society, and an environment where companies can cooperate and participate in environmental actions. We are considering building a consortium this year.
I think that there are many people and companies who do not know how to take concrete actions while thinking that they will not do something for environmental problems, so FDS will become a hub and cooperate with Shibuya Ward. However, I would like to liven up the environmental action from Shibuya.
This is the introduction of the business I am involved in. In addition to this, although it has not yet been made into a project, there are plans that we are considering underwater with member companies, so I would like to introduce it again.
We are developing a wide range of projects to explore the possibilities of Shibuya, so we hope that you will join us in FDS.
