Since this is the first time, I will introduce myself. I'm Natsuhiko Kubota a.k.a. kubotech, who is in charge of the smart city project at Future Design Shibuya.
The reason for kubotech is that I have lived a techie life in its own way. It sounds good to say that SE is the first job after graduating from university, but the point is that it is a new programmer who cannot use it.
After that, even at Nike, where I changed jobs, I first taught how to use computers in the system department, managed databases, and developed visual basic business applications.
Since 1999, I have been involved in the launch of NIKE.JP, NIKEiD, and NIKE.COM, which is an EC site, but it may be a long time to talk about it. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
The project I'm currently working on is Smart City Shibuya. Specifically, we have created the Shibuya Data Consortium and are proceeding with a fairly execution-based data project in a subcommittee format. The secretariat of this consortium is being worked on by Future Design Shibuya together with the Institute of Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo.
The goal of the data consortium is to use the data in the city of Shibuya to create useful services for the people of Shibuya. To that end, I think it is important not only for companies to get together and hold meetings, but also to create something that is actually visible, concrete and moving.
Although the vision is big, the biggest challenge for the data consortium that was launched in July 2020 is the small amount of data that can be obtained from the city of Shibuya. Also, existing data cannot be used easily. There are some paid items to use the data.
To solve that problem
1) Proceed with a project to install sensors and build an environment where data can be collected by oneself.
2) Design a project that has merits for existing data holders.
3) Think about whether you can use existing open data or create new open data.
I am looking for an approach like that.
We will contribute to improving the city of Shibuya as much as possible while making a lot of policy decisions and services based on such data to the world with the members of the consortium. In the future, I will write the specific contents of each project.
If you are interested in the data consortium, such as companies, other local governments or organizations, please contact Future Design Shibuya, even if you exchange opinions first.
