In cooperation with various stakeholders, we will work throughout the year to solve social issues such as not only nuisance street drinking, but also street smoking and littering. The first step is to promote a project to "make the town safe and secure" during the Halloween period.

Regarding the declaration of zero nuisance street drinking

The area around Shibuya Station is a lively area, bustling with many visitors, both as a commercial area and a center of culture such as music and fashion. The damage caused to stores has become a social problem, and the situation cannot be overlooked. In particular, drinking on the street not only obstructs traffic in itself, but also becomes a breeding ground for problematic behavior such as littering and noise, and such nuisance drinking on the street threatens the order of the city. is also occurring.
Taking this situation seriously, Shibuya City is evolving into a mature and attractive international city, aiming to become a ``city that attracts attention and is loved by people all over the world.'' We have declared that we will work to create a new culture of ``zero nuisance street drinking'' as a city where everyone can enjoy a comfortable, safe, and secure stay.

Comment from Ken Hasebe, Mayor of Shibuya Ward
Since the new coronavirus has moved to Category 5, the number of people drinking on the street has increased, and garbage and various troubles caused by street drinking have become a major problem in Shibuya. Therefore, the ward has declared its commitment to creating a new culture of zero nuisance street drinking. We will work together with our many stakeholders to resolve issues and create a city where everyone can enjoy a comfortable, safe and secure stay. We appreciate your cooperation.

Comment from Hideki Koizumi, Representative Director of Future Design Shibuya General Incorporated Association
Having a variety of people pick up trash together and share messages together creates a sense of camaraderie and a sense of attachment to one's own city. We would also like to listen to the opinions of people who drink on the street and work together with them to create an inclusive project. I believe that the Shibuya Good Manners Project has great potential to not only raise awareness of etiquette to create a safe and enjoyable town, but also to create a foundation for town development by raising awareness. We look forward to the participation of many stakeholders.
