“Pop & street AN ANNUAL 2019” at special venue ANNEX (Jinroku / redevelopment area)

Shibuya is changing its appearance every day due to redevelopment that is said to be once every 100 years, but in Shibuya Ward, redevelopment rush is underway not only around Shibuya Station but also in the neighboring Harajuku area, such as the Jingumae 6-chome district redevelopment area. am. The building in Jingu-mae 6-chome, Shibuya-ku, where the general incorporated association Future Design Shibuya (hereinafter referred to as Future Design Shibuya) had an office until mid-November, is also scheduled to be redeveloped and reborn as a new facility after being demolished. ..

Therefore, Future Design Shibuya will collaborate with the art & culture free magazine "HIDDEN CHAMPION" to decorate the inner and outer walls of the old office and a part of the Olympia Annex, which is also scheduled to be demolished, with mural paintings at the group art show "pop & street AN ANNUAL 2019" at. We have decided to hold the special venue ANNEX from Saturday, December 14th to Wednesday, December 25th, 2019. This group art show is sponsored by "HIDDEN CHAMPION" and will be held as part of the group art show "pop & street AN ANNUAL 2019" centered on street artists, which has been held every year since the end of 2016.

The theme is "Harajuku, street, freedom"

There are many street artists in the city of Harajuku, which has created a lot of street culture.

Is it possible to create a project that utilizes the pre-demolition building for this art show where many artists participate and a wide variety of works meet together? This initiative was realized by receiving a consultation from "HIDDEN CHAMPION", being involved in the redevelopment of the Jingumae 6-chome area, and having the cooperation of Tokyu Land Corporation, which is also the owner of the building.

A mural culture that draws art that is prospering in various places such as the United States, Europe, and Asian countries on the indoor and outdoor walls. There is an image that is not common in Japan yet, but it is said that many artists are looking for a wall where they can draw murals.

This "pop & street AN ANNUAL 2019 at special venue ANNEX (Jinroku / Redevelopment Area)" is an art event with the theme of Harajuku, the origin of Japanese street culture, just before the new start of redevelopment. It is a project that allows people to feel the freedom of street art.
