"SHIBUYA Good Manner Hackathon feat. Fortnite" is looking for creative, Fortnite-like games that solve Shibuya's problems such as smoking, drinking, and littering on the streets!

As part of the "Shibuya Good Manners Project" to make Shibuya Ward a safe and secure city, the "SHIBUYA Good Manner Challenge feat. Fortnite" was launched jointly with transcosmos inc. and EbuAction Inc. to raise awareness of social issues such as nuisance drinking on the streets and littering on the streets. The project kicked off on November 1st, and "SHIBUYA CITY BOSS FIGHT" has been released on the Fortnite metaverse, a game popular among young people and overseas users.

In addition, an event titled "SHIBUYA Good Manner Hackathon feat. Fortnite" is being held in the streets of Shibuya, where we are calling for creative, Fortnite-like games that incorporate awareness-raising elements to solve Shibuya's issues of street smoking, drinking, and littering.

The judges are Osamu Suzuki (CEO of Startup Factory), Posuka Demizu (manga artist, illustrator), Naohiro Ukawa (currently an artist in residence / CEO of SUPER DOMMUNE), Yabu Mitsuda (Head of the Metaverse Promotion Department at transcosmos inc.), Keita Noda (CEO of EbuAction / CEO of metaverse production studio BORDER) and Osada Nagata (Director and Secretary General Future Design Shibuya General Incorporated Association / Executive Producer of SIW), and now Motohiko Tokuriki (note producer / blogger at note Inc.) has been newly appointed.
We encourage applicants to participate, either by themselves or as part of a team that includes the applicant, in solving social issues in Shibuya.

The "SHIBUYA Good Manner Hackathon feat. Fortnite" is an initiative of the SHIBUYA GOODMANNER PROJECT, and is set in the streets of Shibuya. We are calling for creative, Fortnite-like games that incorporate awareness-raising elements to solve Shibuya's issues of street smoking, drinking, and littering.

Theme of the work
Using "FORTNITE Creative Mode" and "Unreal Editor For Fortnite (UEFN)", this is a creative, Fortnite-like game set in the city of Shibuya that incorporates elements of solving social issues in Shibuya.

Product specifications
1) The content must comply with the Fortnite Island Creator Terms and other Fortnite terms, contracts, guidelines, rules, etc.

②Use ShibuyaGoodMannerHackathonAsset (distributed assets) in the game.

③ Include "SGH (the initials of SHIBUYA Good Manner Hackathon)" at the end of the map name.

④The content must comply with the participation terms and conditions.

⑤The rest of the content should be created according to the creator's own ideas.

Application deadline: Friday, December 20, 2024 at 23:59 (Japan time)
Review period: Until Friday, December 27, 2024 (tentative)
Results announcement: Late December 2024

Announcement of the winning works
The winning works will be announced around late December 2024 (online event).

Judging Criteria
・Fortnite-ness: The game must have gameplay that Fortnite users find interesting.
・Creativity: The content must take advantage of Shibuya being the setting.
・Technical ability: High level of technical perfection in terms of game system, level design, 3D graphics, etc.
・Social contribution: The game content and story must include awareness-raising elements that address issues in Shibuya, such as smoking and drinking on the streets and littering. *You can still submit your work even if it does not meet all of the above criteria.

・Prize: 1 million yen (tax included)
・Benefits: Awards will be presented at an online event

How to participate
① After accepting the application guidelines and participation terms, please apply for participant registration through the participation registration form.

② Receive the ShibuyaGoodMannerHackathonAsset (distributed assets) and join the official Discord. (Participants will be contacted by the event staff.)

③ Follow the application procedures on the official Discord to create your work by the deadline, and once your work is complete, post the map code to Discord. When submitting your work, you must attach a screenshot (image) of the game.

SHIBUYA Good Manner Hackathon feat. Fortnite Judging Committee

Osamu Suzuki (CEO, Startup Factory)
Representative of Startup Factory. Born in Chikura Town, Chiba Prefecture (now Minamiboso City).
He became a television writer at the age of 19, and has been producing a variety of content for the past 32 years.
He will retire from his work as a scriptwriter and television writer on March 31, 2024, and currently serves as its representative after founding Startup Factory, a fund for TOC.

Posuka Demizu (Manga artist, illustrator)
Born January 17, 1988. Resides in Tokyo.
In 2008, he began his commercial career as an illustrator and manga serializer for Terebi-kun and the Pokémon Card Game. His main works include illustrations for Oreca Monsters: Adventure Legend and Killgumi (all published by Shogakukan). He also serializes The Promised Neverland (original story by Kaiu Shirai) in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). He also created character designs for Wonder Hatch: The Island of the Flying Dragon and BEYBLADE X.

Naohiro Ukawa (currently an artist/representative of SUPER DOMMUNE)
A contemporary visual artist. A versatile artist who has been active in a wide range of fields since the late 1980s, working as a video artist, graphic designer, VJ, writer, and university professor. Currently, he is engaged in the most free expression activities in Japan. In 2010, he opened Japan's first live streaming studio and channel "DOMMUNE", and broadcasts alternative programs to the world every night. In 2021, he won the 71st Received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Art Encouragement Award.

Motohiko Tokuriki (note producer/blogger, note Inc.)
After graduating from NTT, he resigned in a fit of youthful folly and was on the verge of being out on the street when things didn't go well for him. But then blogging and social media saved his life. Based on his experience, he published a book called "SNS Textbook for Ordinary People," and is currently in charge of educating and supporting businesspeople and companies on how to use note and social media at note.
In addition, as a blogger, he supports the future and global expansion of Japanese "entertainment" by introducing news on Yahoo!News and YouTube about the use of digital and SNS in the entertainment industry and the evolution of oshikatsu. He is an active gamer who plays Fortnite with his second son almost every week.

Mitsuda Tsubasa (Director of Metaverse Promotion Department, transcosmos inc.)
In 2009, he joined Transcosmos Inc. After gaining experience in service design, operation, planning, and sales in the contact center business, he launched the marketing department as a manager and led it to success.
From 2022, he will focus on new business development in the Web3 and metaverse fields, and established the Metaverse Promotion Department in February 2023. Since then, he has been in charge of overseeing business and marketing strategies utilizing the metaverse.
Currently, he is promoting the development and provision of corporate content using "Fortnite," "Roblox," and "ZEPETO." Through these platforms, he is focusing on efforts to help companies penetrate their branding through games to young people and overseas users.
As a Fortnite user, he spends his time playing LEGO Fortnite and the Deathrun genre with his 5-year-old child.

Keita Noda (CEO of EbuAction/CEO of Metaverse Production Studio BORDER)
CEO of EbuAction Co., Ltd. Dropped out of Eiko Gakuen Junior and Senior High School. In 2021, he launched a new organization as General Manager of the eSports team KAWAZ, leading them to win the ASIA CHAMPION title at the FNCS, known as the highest level competitive tournament for Fortnite. He then founded EbuAction Co., Ltd. At EbuAction, he operates a business that provides marketing solutions specialized for Roblox and Fortnite to companies.

Osada Nagata (Director and Secretary General Future Design Shibuya / Executive Producer of SIW)
After working in sales, marketing and PR for communications and enterprise systems at AT&T and Nokia, he joined Red Bull Japan in 2007. As head of communications and CMO, he worked for 10 and a half years to establish the energy drink category and to penetrate the market with the brand and products, before leaving the company in 2017. He has been in his current position since 2018. As the representative of NEW KIDS Co., Ltd., he also provides career support as a marketing and PR advisor and a director of the Marketer Career Association.
