At "SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK 2024 (SIW)," the awards ceremony was held for the "SIW IMPACT" awards program, which recognizes actions and ideas that lead to a better future.

At the awards ceremony, winners were recognized in three categories: "GOOD SOLUTION" and "GOOD INNOVATOR" from "SIW IMPACT," which were nominated and judged by SIW Fellows, and "SHIBUYA GOOD ACTION," which was selected from public entries and judged by Future Design Shibuya FUTURE DESIGNERS and directors.

Disaster relief project: Paper tube partition unit
Yasunori Harano, Secretary General of the NPO Voluntary Architects Network

A disaster relief project led by architect Shigeru Ban. In the Noto Peninsula earthquake, a temporary partition system was set up using paper tubes and cloth dividers to ensure privacy for evacuees.

The world's first tuna connoisseur's AI "TUNA SCOPE" inherits the tacit knowledge of experienced connoisseurs. The company is also involved in "VOICE WATCH," an AI that generates real-time commentary to enable the visually impaired to watch sports, and "VISIONGRAM," which visualizes the different ways in which visually impaired people see things.

Founded and operates the Ishikawa Barrier-Free Tour Center, which introduces the wonderful tourist destination of Ishikawa to wheelchair users, people with visual or hearing impairments, and the elderly.

A former greengrocer on Sasazuka 10th Street has been renovated into a local welfare center. It provides a place where anyone can take a break and chat for free. Run in collaboration between residents and an NPO, it is a place open to the community and also functions as an outreach center to monitor and identify needs for support.

Diploma Project
SCSFT Project

Shibuya City elementary and junior high school graduation certificates are made from paper (Shibuya Paper) made from recycled textile waste from Shibuya. The project is also aimed at raising awareness among young people, with the motto of "shifting Shibuya, a city with a lot of things thrown away, into a city that creates new value and builds the future." This project was started by two junior high school students.
