We will welcome diplomats from Finland and Iceland, two Nordic countries that rank high in the gender gap index* and happiness ranking** and where many startups are born, to discuss why diversity is important for society and its people. A session to unravel the secret through case studies.

Let's know now about sexual rights of all genders
This year, we have had many opportunities to see and hear about sexual damage and crimes that ignore human rights in the Japanese media.
Why did such crimes and damage occur?
Why have both the media and us been "silent" for so long?
Talking about sexuality and "sex" is still treated like a taboo in Japan. That's why even in school education, there are "stopping rules" (*), there are no opportunities to learn with the opposite sex, and there is an atmosphere in which people are not allowed to speak up even if they have trouble, so problems are suppressed instead of being raised aloud. It may be that you end up with something like that. What if this was a different gender? Were they treated differently?

Why not take a look at Japanese society's way of thinking about human rights, as well as Japan's human rights education, by once again discussing sexual rights for all genders at SIW, which is an opportunity to question diversity?

* What is a limiting provision? A limiting provision in the curriculum guidelines that limits the learning content with phrases such as "...will not be covered," "... will only be covered," "...will not be covered in depth," etc.

workshop

13:00 – 14:30
Your identity as a transgender “mutant wave” / DE&I promotion that starts with each individual’s self-understanding
When you hear words like "diversity" and "D&I," what images come to mind? Know the difference between someone other than yourself. Accept someone's individuality. Many people may have the impression that "diversity" and "inclusion" mean thinking about someone other than themselves.
Why don't you take some time to think about yourself in your busy everyday life?
In order for all people to be respected, for each person to live their own life, and to accept someone's differences and individuality, why not start by facing yourself, knowing yourself, and loving yourself? ?

Let's deepen our self-understanding from the three perspectives of "mental health," "individual differences," and "art," and find hints to further promote DE&I!
