Japan Women's Professional Soccer League (WE League) joins public partnership

The Japan Women's Professional Football League (WE League), which aims to develop women's sports and realize a diverse society, has announced that it has joined as a public partner.

So far, at the event "SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK (hereafter, SIW)" co-sponsored with Shibuya Ward, we have been implementing a conference program in collaboration with the WE League for three consecutive years. Taking advantage of the opportunity to appear on the program, we connected Shibuya Ward as a place to realize the WE League philosophy and supported the conclusion of a partnership agreement (*) with Shibuya Ward. Going forward, Future Design Shibuya will utilize the industry-government-academia-civil collaboration platform to accelerate the realization of concrete actions for this agreement.

Action plan with WE League (tentative)

In order to embody the content of the agreement with Shibuya Ward, we have partnered with Future Design Shibuya, creating new value through the co-creation of various entities, and collaborating with industry, government, academia, and the private sector to bring about social innovation. I will continue to work.

  • Attracting and collaborating with companies that support women's soccer, collaborating with specialty products and products in the Shibuya area
  • Promotion of women's sports, gender equality, diversity and inclusion messages using the city and resources of Shibuya
  • Holding events to promote diversity and inclusion in collaboration with SIW and Women Wellness Action, activities organized by Future Design Shibuya
  • Program planning, WE ACTION, and internships in the WE League in collaboration with schools and students in Shibuya Ward (activation in key league games and joint management of games)
  • Free invitations to women's soccer events for Shibuya residents, employees and students of Shibuya Ward, and a halftime show in collaboration with street sports supported by Shibuya Ward.
  • Planning and demonstrating a new form of fan engagement in the region by utilizing digital technology and data
