The street sports project "Next Generations", in which young people can actively participate, with the aim of promoting street sports and enlightenment on improving manners, was scheduled to be held in November 2022, but was canceled due to rain.Next Generations Games 2022 double dutch and hip hop alternative competition was held on February 18th (Sat) at the Yoyogi National Stadium No. 2 Gymnasium Special Venue.
The “Next Generations Games” street sports competition for U-15 (junior high school students and younger), which has been held since 2018 and will be held for the fifth consecutive year in 2022. At this year's event, two new competitions, hip-hop, which was newly added this year, and double dutch, which will be held for the fourth consecutive year, will be held. Blessed with the sunshine that reminded us of the arrival of spring, the approximately 40 athletes who entered put their passion and strength into their performances.
Next month, on Saturday, March 11th, we will hold an alternative breaking competition at Chatan Park in Shibuya Ward. We are still accepting entries until March 6th.
With the number of athletes and audiences increasing year by year, and the emergence of new champions, this year's tournament made it possible to feel the expansion of the street sports scene. Please continue to pay attention to the “Next Generations Games” where next-generation athletes who are expected to be active in the future gather from all over the country.

Organizer/Judge Comments
Comment from Double Dutch Head Judge KEITA JUMPROCK
This time, as a judge at the Next Generations Games, I felt that the skills and enthusiasm of the next-generation players are increasing at an incredible speed. Winning and losing is very important. But more than that, I want you to pay attention to the encounters and new stimuli in that space. I believe that the root of street culture and sports lies in that encounter.
Looking forward to meeting new people and seeing the Next Generations play an active role!
Comment from hip-hop organizer AKIHIRO
Thank you to everyone who entered. I was a little worried about the new content, but many people from all over the world participated, and I was able to welcome the day with a very good atmosphere. Even after the competition, I received various comments such as "I'm glad I took on the challenge" and "I'll practice more until next time". Seeing the judges interacting with each other, I really felt the goodness of the dance and the goodness of this event. I was there.
With the word "challenge" as the theme, I believe that it is an event where you can nurture your mind through dance while being surrounded by various emotions. We look forward to your next challenge.
