Thing.
In collaboration with Future Design Shibuya, DNP, and Kyoto City, elementary school students in Shibuya Ward will exhibit pixel art drawn on the theme of traditional Kyoto food, crafts, tourist attractions, etc. in one area of "Kyotokan PLUS X". increase.
Background of the initiative
Future Design Shibuya, DNP, Miyashita Park Partners opened the virtual space "Shibuya Ward Miyashita Park Powered by PARALLEL SITE" in July 2021 and is developing various events such as mystery solving events and art exhibitions. Currently, DNP and Kyoto City have built and demonstrated "Kyotokan PLUS X", which can be accessed from anywhere in Japan and abroad in the same space, and multiple participants can experience and purchase traditional Kyoto culture and traditional crafts. We operate as a business.
In collaboration between Shibuya Ward and Kyoto City, at the "SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA 2019" (* 2) held in 2019, the theme of sustainable town development was the current Mayor of Kyoto and the current Mayor of Hasebe. We are currently participating in a public partner of Future Design Shibuya, taking measures that lead to intercity cooperation, such as holding a talk session in Kyoto.
This time, we will use it as a place for children to learn and exhibit art works for the purpose of regional exchange between Kyoto City and Shibuya Ward and the use of Metaverse in the field of education.
Features of the art exhibition
1. 1. Pixel art created through interaction between elementary school students and Kyoto City is exhibited in a virtual space
Elementary school students learn about traditional Kyoto food, crafts, tourist attractions, etc. from Kyoto City staff while wandering around the virtual space "Kyotokan PLUS X" and draw pixel art based on the contents. People from each region, which we cannot usually meet, interact with each other through content appreciation, communication, and workshops at "Kyotokan PLUS X," which leads to the production of art works.
2. Exhibit in virtual space allows you to appreciate it all over the world
In real exhibitions such as art works, there are physical conditions and restrictions such as securing a venue, loading and unloading works, opening hours and location of the venue. This time, by exhibiting art works in the virtual space, anyone can freely see them at any time. Users can select a character (avatar) to be their own alter ego, have a voice conversation with the users who are participating at the same time, and can also shoot the art works on display.
Mirai Library "Children in Shibuya tried to draw Kyoto!" Implementation report
This program consists of a total of three workshops.
In the first session, we interacted with Kyoto City staff while wandering around the virtual space "Kyotokan PLUS X" under the theme of "Learn about Kyoto through virtual space!" Through dialogues such as "What is traditional food in Kyoto?" And "What are the tourist attractions in Kyoto?", You can learn about Kyoto that you have never known before by experiencing content viewing in a virtual space. rice field.
In the latter half of the program, each person picked up a smart terminal and walked around the virtual space freely as an avatar while actually operating it. While immersing myself in the virtual space, I searched for Maiko who appeared in the space and enjoyed taking selfies in the virtual space.
In the second session, the theme was "Let's make pixel art with the image of Kyoto!" I created it as pixel art. The children chose their favorite subjects and enjoyed making their own pixel art. Children who were aroused about Kyoto were able to create works while thinking about Kyoto while saying, "I want to eat Yatsuhashi!" And "I want to see the glittering Kinkakuji Temple!" ..
In the third and final episode, we are planning to hold an appreciation party for the works that have begun to be exhibited in the virtual space "Kyotokan PLUS X" under the theme of "Let's go to see the works exhibited in the virtual space".
