SIW, which started in 2018, is celebrating its fifth year this year.
Last year's SIW2021 deployed 107 programs in 10 days, with a total of about 130,000 participants in Real Online. In addition, at the end of the session, the speakers and the audience of the venue wrote down their ideas and thoughts on a strip of paper, and about 300 various ideas unique to Shibuya were gathered. And now, various projects are implemented from the ideas born from SIW.
This year as well, we will carry out a hybrid with online distribution, but we would like to create opportunities to come into contact with new ideas by making full use of the city of Shibuya by adding not only event halls but also cafes, commercial facilities, hotels, etc. thinking about. In addition to the activities of "Award", "Conference" and "Experience", this year we have evolved "Networking", and as "Shibuya Idea Conference", people with various personalities gather and discuss different ideas and different perspectives. I will continue to do it. Please pay attention to the festival of ideas sent from Shibuya through SIW such as projects and businesses born from new connections.

SIW is now in its fifth year. I myself have participated in talk sessions on various themes at SIW, but each time I feel that free and rich ideas and possibilities are expanding from Shibuya, SIW will explore the city of Shibuya. I am happy that it is becoming a symbolic event.
I hope that this year, the ideas born in SIW will be implemented in the city of Shibuya, and the future of Shibuya will expand.

SIW, which is the 5th year, will be held in November this year as well. SIW, which was as unknown as Future Design Shibuya, had a dangerous time even when it was rubbed by rough waves such as corona, but it has continued to evolve into a hybrid type development and a festival of ideas, and recently it is the starting point and middle of the activity. As a point, I am very happy that the number of people who are using this place has increased.
The characteristic of SIW is "Shibuya" where diverse people gather, and it is necessary for governments, companies, schools, and citizens to bring issues and ideas across barriers, deepen discussions and understanding, and create opportunities to act independently. is. I hope that the environment will be relaxed a little this year, and I would like to take on new challenges such as creating an environment where more people can participate and experimental efforts that I had been thinking about from the beginning. We look forward to the participation of many partners and individuals.
