Nekuino Co., Ltd., which develops the online pill prescription service "Smaruna", is facing the current situation that it is difficult to obtain emergency contraceptives and low-dose pills, and the way of dealing with the body and sex is becoming a social issue. Nekuino Co., Ltd., in the SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA 2021 held in Shibuya Ward, sympathized with the session "Thinking about the sex of the heart and body of the Z generation" as a solution to social issues through open innovation. We have joined a special regular member of Future Design Shibuya, an industry-government-academia-private partnership organization that designs possibilities, and in the future we plan to carry out social actions in collaboration with companies and universities in Shibuya Ward together with Future Design Shibuya.
First, as the first action, we jacked Shibuya station with 13 types of out-of-station advertisements with the slogan "#Shikatanakunai", and at the same time launched an original magazine, 10,000 copies in front of Shibuya 109 from December 14, 2021. Will be distributed free of charge. At the same time, more than 1000 copies were distributed at facilities that supported the initiative and at bookstores nationwide. Japan should demonstrate solid leadership in the world in terms of technology, economy, and culture, but it is not a situation that we can be very proud of in the gender gap, which represents the gender gap. In the background, this issue has not been a priority issue in Japan since the period of high economic miracle, and as a result, innumerable resignations such as "I can't help it" have been born. Since launching "Smarna", an online medical examination platform specialized in the field of gynecology in June 2018, we have faced this issue straight from the field of medical care. Approximately half a year after the conception, with the concept of 12 "# can't be helped" seeds, at "Shibuya", the transmission point of Japan's proud culture, with the strong support of Future Design Shibuya, a general incorporated association, this project I'm really happy to have reached the takeoff.

What is a "#Shikatanakunai" project?
Background of launch
Nekuino Co., Ltd. has developed an online pill prescription service "Smaruna" with the mission of "creating a world where the mind and body are healthy and can choose a life that is unique to me", eliminating the patience and giving up of "no choice". Has provided services aimed at realizing sexual and reproductive health / rights (SRHR: sexual and reproductive health and rights) so that people can lead their own lives.

・ Operation of Smarna, which connects people suffering from menstruation and contraception directly online and delivers pills, and midwives and pharmacists accept consultations.

Through the development / deployment of services such as "I go to work because I don't want to bother people around me even if I'm not feeling well", "My partner doesn't contracept me", "I can't take a day off from school even on menstrual days" While listening to the voice saying, "I can't improve my career if I give birth," I felt that now is the time to face the fact that we have given up "there is no choice" without realizing it.
Project purpose
I want to make it "unavoidable" by visualizing the "unavoidable" related to sex and body, and creating opportunities for everyone to discuss and think. We decided to launch a project with the slogan "#Shikatanakunai" so that everyone, not just the parties concerned, can think about it.
First of all, the first issue of the magazine "# There is no choice" is published, which raises a voice saying "There is no choice" about menstruation, contraception, and sex that tend to be put up with "There is no choice". We will also post an advertisement outside the station so that it can be an opportunity for people who happen to pass by. In the future, we plan to continue our activities with the slogan "# There is no choice" with various people who can sympathize with us, such as publishing magazines and Shibuya Ward.
About the first issue of "# There is no choice" magazine
The first issue deals with themes that people tend to put up with because they are themselves. We interview various people about creating a comfortable working environment, sex education, and contraception, including awareness surveys on menstruation, sex, and contraception.
To commemorate the start of the project, 13 types of outdoor advertisements are posted on 350 pages in about 60 locations near Shibuya Station, and magazines are distributed in front of Shibuya 109. Please come and visit us.
