Sakura Yosozumi experiences 5G at Miyashita Park Skateboard Park! Multi-view shooting with multi-camera using au 5G

Press release

Providing opportunities for skateboarders to enjoy their performance footage

Through the "Shibuya 5G Entertainment Project", Future Design Shibuya Co., Ltd. has installed multiple 5G-compatible smartphones at the skateboard attached to Miyashita Park in Shibuya Ward to improve skater performance from various angles. A demonstration experiment of a service that provides shot and edited images started on Sunday, December 6th.

On the first day of the demonstration experiment, Red Bull contract athlete Sakura Yosozumi, a top skater, gave a demonstration.

Demonstration by Sakura Yosozumi

Sakura Yosozumi demonstrated at the U-15 Street Sports Competition "Next Generation Games 2020". I enjoyed playing at Miyashita Park for the first time, and also watched my own performance that was visualized on the spot through a demonstration experiment. Click here for a video of her performance shot and edited with multiple cameras.

Providing experience opportunities for young people aiming to become top athletes through "Next Generations"

In collaboration with the "Next Generations" project, which develops various activities centered on young U-15 (junior high school students and younger) throughout the year, with the aim of promoting street sports and enlightening sports manners in Shibuya Ward, younger generation players are also demonstrating. I experienced an experiment.

Comment from Sakura Yosozumi

I'm glad that I'm shooting my slides from various angles with 6 cameras, and the style is such that I can see the slips that I haven't done in a cool way. By having a video, the make-up rate will increase, and I think it's a good initiative because you can see how and where you are looking and slipping.

Comment from Ken Hasebe, Mayor of Shibuya Ward

Shibuya Ward has a policy of fusing technology and various things, especially this park is in the middle of the city and it is also a place that many people will use, so this measure is adopted this time. I decided to try it, but I think that urban sports and technology were mixed, and new and Shibuya-like value could be transmitted.

Thanks to you, street culture is one of the major driving forces of the city's cultural activities, and I think that the city needs a place where you can legally skateboard, and there are various new possibilities of technology in the future. I'm hoping that something will be born by mixing skateboarding, which is a new sport that has been certified as an Olympic event.
As a stepping stone, it was completely unthinkable a few years ago that the video taken this time could be viewed immediately under a 5G environment and could be processed and used by myself, and it will spread on SNS. I'm starting to see the possibility that it will be an advertisement for this place itself, and I'm looking forward to it in the future.

Comment from Mr. Kohei Shigeta, General Manager, 5G / xR Service Strategy Department, Service Management Headquarters, KDDI Personal Business Headquarters

The cool gliding scene was automatically edited by AI, and the very "only you" image with music was made into a work that everyone would like to see.
This time, I had you wear bibs and extracted and edited the colors of bibs, but as AI learns, I can expect that it will be possible to identify cool makeup scenes more accurately. After having more people slide in this demonstration experiment, I think that it will be possible to produce cooler promo videos for skaters by cutting out only the best scenes.
After this demonstration experiment, we would like to hear the voices of skaters and refine the points for improvement and functions.

About Next Generations

https://www.nextgenerations.jp/
Next Generations is a year-round project for young U-15s (junior high school students and younger) with the aim of promoting street sports and enlightening manners. Based on the implementation of the street sports competition, we are comprehensively developing experience events and school business.

Street sports have learning that is different from the educational context such as physical education and club activities. You can learn the culture by learning the rules of society in the community and touching the scene. By promoting street sports, we will create learning places in towns and parks and give children new discoveries.
