We will cooperate as a SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK collaborative event with the regional revitalization online event "Tokyo Night Market" sponsored by NIGHT MARKET JAPAN Co., Ltd., which handles regional revitalization projects through the event.
"Tokyo Night Market" is a night market revitalization project that started in September 2019, and so far we have held events with the theme of "Night Market in Japan" at a corner of Shibuya. A total of more than 15,000 people visited the venue. This year, the fourth time, we will hold an online event where you can enjoy Japanese festivals at home with the appearance of top runners from various fields under the theme of "From here, a new future begins".
I want to send hope for the future from Shibuya, which has changed completely due to the corona disaster, to all over Japan.
Life in Tokyo has changed completely due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection that has continued since the winter of 2020. The liveliness disappeared from Shibuya at night due to repeated requests to refrain from going out and shortening the business hours of restaurants. Now that we have reached the second summer of the Corona disaster and continue to record the highest number of infected people in the past, we are holding an online event with the hope of providing everyone in the stay home with energy and hope for the future through entertainment. I decided to do it. We hope that everyone in Japan will experience Shibuya culture and the future of Shibuya, and that this entertainment will make you feel positive and radiant.
I would like everyone to enjoy summer nights in Japan even under these circumstances. We will also focus on supporting the transmission of Japanese festival culture and charm, creating an after-corona festival and nightlife, and developing it as a key driver for inbound revitalization.
