Looking for experimental partners and utilization ideas for the river space "Shibuya River Street" along the Shibuya River
Future Design Shibuya (hereinafter referred to as Future Design Shibuya) is a social experiment project "WORK PARK PACK" that utilizes the waterside space "Shibuya River Street" along the Shibuya River as an initiative aimed at rebuilding public spaces. Will start on March 1st (Friday) with ULTRA PUBLIC PROJECT (* 1). Along with that, we are looking for experimental partners and the first utilization idea at this Shibuya River Street until March 31st (Sun). The ideas actually adopted will be realized as experimental ideas within the social experiment period.
background
Public spaces, which influence the value of cities, tend to be restricted by administrative prohibitions, and there are issues that citizens are not able to utilize. Future Design Shibuya will start a social experiment along the Shibuya River aiming to build an autonomous mechanism for space management and utilization from the user's perspective. In this social experiment, we will develop ideas on-site in a timely manner in collaboration with various actors, and based on the support of quantitative data, we will explore a mechanism to improve the value of the town and foster a culture.
About Shibuya River
The Shibuya River exists near Shibuya Station as a valuable urban river with a view of the water surface, and its tributary river bone river is said to be the setting for the song "Spring Stream". In 2018, a new waterside space for people, "Shibuya River Street," was born along the Shibuya River through public-private partnership Shibuya redevelopment efforts. In the future, it is expected that local people, workers, learners, and visitors will all form the culture along the Shibuya River.
About the WORK PARK PACK project
This is a project that broadly captures the meaning of "WORK" and creates and discusses the possibilities of WORK openly not only with business people but also with everyone who lives and works here in Shibuya. This is a social experiment that verifies ideas for utilization unique to the Shibuya River by utilizing PARK PACK (* 2), which is a tool that draws out the potential of public spaces by using "public space x WORK" in actual public spaces.

(* 1) What is ULTRA PUBLIC PROJECT?
A unit launched by members of three companies: Rhizomatiks Architecture, TYO, and Dentsu Live. From Tokyo Midtown DESIGN TOUCH 2018, Nikken Sekkei, Propeller and Company will be newly added. Under the banner of "We are the city.", We will consider and propose city planning from the perspective of various software centered on people, rather than developing hardware.
(* 2) What is PARK PACK?
The mobile park "PARK PACK" wants you to create a "Mirai Park" from Tokyo Midtown, which hosts the design event "Tokyo Midtown DESIGN TOUCH 2018" (October 19th to November 4th, 2018). It was an offer and was conceived as the content of the event. With the various tools in the PARK PACK, the park can be transformed into a new future playground, live stage, museum, and more.
