A total of 10 U-15 athletes from skateboarding, surfing, breakin, and BMX participated.
U-15 (junior high school students) is a new initiative in the street sports project "Next Generations", which is under the supervision of Future Design Shibuya, and is aimed at enlightening the promotion of street sports and the improvement of manners, in which young people including Shibuya Ward can actively participate. The "Next Generations Elite Camp & Awards", a completely invitation-only elite athlete workshop for (below), was held for the first time on March 31st, with Nippon Electric Co., Ltd. as the title partner.
At the "Next Generations Elite Camp & Awards", we invite next-generation athletes who are active in the street sports scene in Japan and overseas and who are promising in the future. In order to become an Olympic athlete and an athlete who will play an active role in the world in the near future, we held a session with professionals from various fields as instructors under the theme of "mind, skill, body, and wisdom."
After the session, we invited the partners of Next Generations to hold Awards to encourage and interact with U-15 athletes invited to Elite Camp. Participants had the opportunity to interact across genres.
"Next Generations," a platform that produces young athletes who will lead the street sports scene in Japan and overseas from Shibuya to the world, is an opportunity for U-15 athletes to "know and hone their strengths" through this activity. We will continue to promote the creation of a place to "know and connect with the same generation."
We will introduce the comments from each instructor who took the stage in the session and the state of the day with highlight videos and photos. We look forward to your continued attention to the experimental and advanced initiatives in the street sports scene.
Post-session comments from the instructor
Session 1: Media training to put your thoughts into words
Lecturer: Ski-Nordic combined sports caster Tsugiharu Ogiwara
<Comment>
"Today's lecture, I think there were some difficulties in the content, but during the lecture, everyone's eyes were shining and I asked the players to create a very easy environment. I myself did it. The sport of skiing that I used to play is a minor sport. What I felt when I was a player was, of course, my grades, but if I didn't tell the story properly through the media, the sport of skiing would remain a minor sport forever. After that, after becoming a sports caster, "speaking and communicating" became my job, and I felt the difficulty. The sport called street sports, in which the athletes who participated this time are doing their best, is a relatively new sport. That is why I think there are many aspects that are easily misunderstood. I think it is important to speak and communicate properly through the media so that many people will recognize that it is a clean and wonderful sport. I would be honored if I could help you with that. "
Session 2: Mental training for next-generation athletes
Lecturer: Sports Doctor Shuichi Tsuji

"Today I had a great time having a session with the next generation athletes who will lead the future. I gave a lecture with the hope that I could help everyone. One important thing, unfortunately, I listened to the lecture. Just because people's minds don't change dramatically. People quickly forget. It's very important to repeat what you know today, such as reviewing with your parents or reading a book. It is also important that parents and coaches share common thoughts. Parents and parents say, "Isn't it trapped in the results?" If the coach continues, the language will naturally grow into the player's brain as a thought. I have seen a lot of teams from university athletic clubs, but coaches and directors often learn with athletes. The habit of thinking, like language, becomes entrenched when you grow up. It is important to create an environment where you can learn the importance of mental training when you are in junior high school or high school. "
Session 3: "Sleep" Workshop for Best Conditioning
Lecturer: Mr. Kenjiro Sudo, Sleep Master, Nishikawa Co., Ltd.
<Comment>
"" Sleep "is all about how players perceive it. Getting enough sleep doesn't mean that your performance will improve dramatically. However, there is no doubt that it is one important factor that can be fixed when pursuing the best performance. Recently, when I was talking about bedding with a soccer player, I was told, "I know this bedding, my parents bought it when I was 18 years old." I realized that my interest in sleep is definitely increasing compared to a decade ago. In fact, few of the athletes we support have started dating after becoming top athletes. Many people were interested in the importance and potential of sleep from early on, and some have approached us on their own. However, even if you know that sleep is important, it's hard to know what to do. Therefore, in today's lecture, I would like to talk to next-generation athletes as an opportunity to think about "sleep", which is often overlooked because they are young. "
