A virtual space "Shibuya Ward Miyashita" operated as a joint demonstration project with Dainippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) and Miyashita Park Partners, the designated manager of Shibuya Ward Miyashita Park, for the purpose of advanced use of the park. From March 17, 2022, the information dissemination space "Kyotokan PLUS X" in Kyoto City will open in "Park Powered by PARALLEL SITE".
"Kyotokan PLUS X" has monitors and panels installed in a virtual space, and not only can you experience and convey the charm of Kyoto such as traditional crafts, events of Kyoto city, tourism resources, but also people living in Shibuya and Kyoto city. We aim to create a place where people living in Kyoto can interact.

Kyoto City was planning to relocate the information dissemination base "Kyotokan" which was closed in 2018 due to redevelopment in front of Tokyo Station, but due to the influence of soaring land prices in Tokyo and the corona disaster, it will replace the permanent base. I was considering a place to send information. As one of the triggers of the Corona disaster, "Metaverse" (a word coined by transcendental meta and the universe of the universe) where participants interact with each other using an alter ego called an avatar in a virtual space on the Internet is beginning to attract attention, and it is an urban type. By collaborating with Shibuya, which already has some precedents in the Metaverse initiative, we will implement new information transmission unique to virtual space.
In the talk session held in 2019, there was an idea that "I hope there is a mechanism that connects Shibuya Ward and Kyoto City so that citizens can create a city while exchanging information with each other." , We will work on creating a system that allows two cities to cooperate, triggered by the efforts of virtual space.
Features of Kyotokan PLUS X
In conjunction with various events held in Kyoto City, we will provide exhibitions and experiences unique to Metaverse at "Kyotokan PLUS X". In conjunction with regular events, we aim to create a space where users can enjoy Kyoto many times by disseminating the charm of Kyoto from various perspectives. At the time of opening in March, videos will be distributed in conjunction with the craft event "CRAFT POINT KYOTO" held by Kyoto City from February 19th (Sat) to March 31st (Thursday), and the craftsmanship will be skillful even from a remote location.
