An idea award that competes for ideas for the future. Participating categories and themes will be announced at SIW2021, and the finalist presentation will be finalized in the spring of 2022. The award-winning ideas will be made into a project in collaboration with Future Design Shibuya and the Shibuya City Tourism Association, and will be expanded to social implementation.

SIW will be held for the 4th time. Looking back on the past, I feel that so many "ideas" have been born, chained, and formed. So what is an idea? Ideas are people, feelings, passions, interpretations, chaos, challenges, discoveries, desires ... If you're thinking about that, as an Executive Fellow this year Yuya Furukawa, the creative director who participated, gave us a big hint to redefine SIW, focusing on "ideas".
SIW will be reborn as a city festival and city device to believe in the possibilities of ideas, meet various ideas, connect with them, and shape them. Please enjoy it!

SIW is also in its fourth year, starting with the aim of creating cross-cutting connections and creating actions by thinking beyond the boundaries of diverse societies. I always feel that Shibuya has a blessed environment where such diverse people and resources can gather. And it made it possible to connect beyond the real place by participating online, which started last year. For me, the idea is the idea and thought that the world will be better and more interesting. Anyone can give an opinion, but it's hard to come up with an idea and put it into action alone. But any small idea is encouraging to have friends. If there is an environment where such unique people gather, it will surely accelerate and be realized. Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1968. The current "existing" artist. Since the end of the 1980s, he has been engaged in a wide range of activities in various fields such as videographers, graphic designers, VJs, writers, and university professors. Since participating in "Buzz Club: News from Japan" (MoMA PS1 New York) and "JAM: Tokyo-London" (Barbican Art Gallery London) in 2001, he has exhibited his works at many exhibitions in Japan and overseas. In 2010, he opened Japan's first live streaming studio and channel "DOMMUNE" individually. With a record number of viewers, it has attracted a lot of attention both at home and abroad, and was selected as a recommended work at the 2011 Japan Media Arts Festival. Ukawa positions the act of shooting, distributing, and recording the programs produced daily at DOMMUNE Studio as his "current work of art."
