In 2021, 10 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake and 5 years after the Kumamoto Earthquake, we will promote further dissemination and network building of disaster prevention and mitigation based on the lessons and experiences gained in the disaster response so far. , Under the auspices of Shibuya Ward, started "MOSHIMO PROJECT SHIBUYA", an activity to spread and enlighten disaster prevention and mitigation through co-creation of local communities, visitors, and companies. During Golden Week, we will implement various initiatives that allow you to experience disaster prevention and mitigation utilizing the entire city of Shibuya.
Disaster prevention / mitigation promotion and enlightenment activities in Shibuya Ward "Moshimo Project Shibuya"
This project is sponsored by Kokumin Mutual Aid coop, Future Design Shibuya, and Shibuya City Tourism Association, and is supported by Shibuya Ward. If an earthquake occurs directly under the Tokyo metropolitan area, many transportation systems will stop, and there are about 5 million people who have difficulty returning home, about 3 million people who have been evacuated, and there is a forecast that food will be scarce. In addition, it is said that as many as 75% of people stop thinking due to the occurrence of an unexpected disaster and cannot take appropriate actions. "What if" always happens "someday". However, if we prepare for "what if", the future will change drastically. This project is set in Shibuya, where diverse people such as people who live, work, and play gather, and by thinking about what each person can do for "If Day" and preparing for it, we will create a resilient city. This is an initiative we are aiming for.
Implementation of "Moshimo WEEK", an event held during Golden Week
Using the entire city of Shibuya, we are implementing various initiatives to experience disaster prevention and mitigation.
